Lisa and Ben Rush are amazing people. From our initial sit down meeting to the end of the night on wedding day, I truly felt as if we were buds from way back when. There was never an awkward moment. In fact, I had to keep reminding myself I was there on a job! Seeing how comfortable they are with each other totally rubbed off on everyone present. Lisa and Ben never hesitated to ask for particular photo opportunities but absolutely trusted Mailei and I to get the job done.
It was truly and amazing day... congrats you two. Keep our number on speed dial so when you come back to San Diego, we can take you around town.
It's about to begin.
Beach wear.
Stunning.
Sunny San Diego delivered.
Amazing. Hands down.

The first dance is always the best.
It's on!
Quick stroll on the boardwalk before the reception.
Happy Holidays everyone! Aside from filling our bellies with tons of tasty food, my wife and I have been filling up our webpages with more photos and details.
We have bookings lining up for 2014. We're excited for the coming year and would love to have your support and refer us to your friends and family. We appreciate it all.
I wish I could relay how excited I am to be heading south of the border to shoot my friend Mike Pilgrim and Kim's wedding in La Paz. One, it's one of my favorite areas in Mexico and two I'll get to check off another destination wedding photoshoot on my list. I'll post the goods as soon as I get the 25 To Go images ready the next morning.
What is 25 To Go? I've heard horror stories about photographers holding wedding photos hostage for over a month after the wedding. That's just crazy to me. You, as a bride and groom, are paying a ton of money and to have to wait over a month to see a photo of the most special day of your life is just not right.
So what we're doing at MV wedding photography is to offer the bride and groom 25 images the next day that are watermarked and ready for social media posts. Not only will they bride and groom be happy but it'll buy me time to get the rest of the images post processed and delivered within one week.
Quality. Great Service. Fast Turnaround. That's what you're paying for, right?
With the new website nearly complete, it's a must that we need to extend our reach with a Facebook page. With the amount of time I spend on Facebook, I know there's others spending the same or more time using the social media monster.
The day before the big day, Mailei and I showed up for the rehearsal. That's when we realized that we have one major factor to deal with... back lighting. With a couple adjustments and the help of Lightroom, we were golden.
The rehearsal went smooth and we were all ready for the big day.
As a wedding photographer, you're handed a schedule of events and a good idea which photos to make sure you do not miss. Mailei and I went over everything the night before and we were ready.
Again, congrats to Matt and Allison and thank you for choosing Mailei and I to capture that special day.
I had the priveledge and pleasure to have my great friend Joy and her husband Gonzo to volunteer for our first 'Trash The Dress' photo shoot. Needless to say, it was fun and the images came out awesome.
I can't wait to try another one, you game? Mailei and I have a ton of ideas. But if you've got one of your own, let us know!
My wife and I can't wait to get our business full steam ahead. This past we compiled photos from friends' weddings and we shot a couple videos along the way. We will be focusing on the photo aspect of things but it's will be nice to have the video card in our back pocket as well.
Here's a look at our latest video from Adriana and Julian's wedding in the beautiful La Costa Resort in San Diego. I was great to get excited on this project. For two reasons; 1. The couple were great! Down to earth and gave my wife and I free reign to get the shots needed. And 2. It was a real test to see how the 7D would handle one full day of shooting. Yes, I need to add another battery to the arsenal and maybe another 32gig card. I love my wife for listening to me and also using her very creative eye to capture those special moments. Great job honey!
The major difference between editing thousands of photos and editing hours of video... not much at all. Different software is the only real thing I can think of. The time it takes to do either one is relative. Both require tedious amount of time behind the computer and crucial attention to detail. National University's media program covered the entire spectrum of media and I thank them for that. For that reason, I love doing both.
Props to Carlos Hernandez, the wedding photography, who was cool for letting me get in position in some shots even though I know I was in his shots. And props to Niloufar Gibson (www.perfectlymadeweddings.com) for keeping her cool in those hectic situations.
I'm happy to say that the bride and groom loved it. Even my wife became teary-eyed when she first saw the final version. Thank you Adriana and Julian for this opportunity. Great couple!
